HCG Diet Combo Program
What is the HCG Diet?
Nearly 70 years ago, British endocrinologist Dr. Albert T.W. Simeons' published "Pounds and Inches: A New Approach to Obesity" along with the revolutionary introduction of the HCG Diet. HCG, or Human chorionic gonadotropin, is a hormone produced during pregnancy that allows women to access fat reserves that are usually difficult to reach. Thought to have fat burning qualities, HCG injections stand as the foundation of the HCG Diet.
In his book, Simeons suggests that the hormone could assist in the achievement of weight loss goals by helping people access their stored fat reserves to lose weight. Several decades later, the diet continues to rack up evidence as a proven "off label" treatment that helps patients lose weight.

How does it work? What is the HCG Injection Cost?
Along with daily small dosage HCG shots, the HGC diet requires that you eat only 500 calories per day un an effort to reset your metabolism and alter unhealthy easting patterns. This will be followed in a 20- or 30-day cycle of HCG supplementation in combination with a very low-calorie diet composed of specific healthy foods. Some of these foods include vegetables, bread, lean protein, fruit, and lots of water. Sugar, butter, and oils, are to be entirely avoided during the course of this diet.
The effectiveness of the HCG hormone as a diet supplement is its role in stimulating the hypothalamus, a small region of the brain responsible for several things including the release of hormones and appetite, and triggering the burning of fat stores without headaches, extreme hunger or hunger pains, and other common low-calorie diet side effects. Many have achieved successful weight loss results with few to no adverse side effects.
Combining the HCG diet and HCG injections with exercise or moderate activity is often an effective weight loss strategy. Likewise, eating plenty of healthy high-protein foods and also taking an occasional break from your diet can boost your metabolism further and lead to additional weight loss. Claimed by proponents of the HCG diet, the diet results in fat loss without the loss of lean muscle. It is also claimed to promote anabolic growth, counteract the catabolic state, boost metabolism, and elevate other hormones.

B12 Supplements and the HCG Diet
With such specific food restrictions and a lowered caloric intake, a dearth in important nutrients may be experienced- especially those found within unrecommended food items. For example, most dairy products including milk, yogurt, cheese, plus eggs and fortified cereals, along with seafood items like clams, mackerel, and herring contain high amounts of vitamin B12. The human body needs vitamin B12, along with other factors,to make red blood cells, nerves, DNA, and carry out other functions. It is vital for your health.
Due to their high fat content, these food items are not allowed on the HCG Diet. This can result in lowered levels of vitamins like B12. Adding a B12 supplement is often recommended when partaking in the HCG Diet and can reduce the overall HCG diet cost by reducing the need for other forms of supplementation.
B12 - Why is it important?
Vitamin B12 plays an important role in the function of all cells. Playing a major role in central nervous and circulatory function, vitamin B12 is necessary for proper brain and body function, the formation of red blood cells in bone marrow, and energy production.
On top of this, B12 is among the most important vitamins for weight management. Increasing your intake of the vitamin not only helps the body utilize fats and carbohydrates, it can improve your overall health, boost energy levels, fight fatigue, and even speed up your metabolism.
Vitamin B12 is found in animal-based foods and byproducts like meat, poultry, seafood, and dairy. This means that those partaking in the HCG Diet will experience of lower intake of many of these food items, due to their high fat content. This can lead to a vitamin B12 deficiency.
A vitamin B12 deficiency has the potential to cause severe and irreversible damage, especially to the brain and nervous system. A range of symptoms may be experienced at levels only slightly lower than normal.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can be slow to develop. Symptoms may appear gradually and intensify over time. Not getting enough vitamin B12 can result in tiredness, weakness, constipation, soreness in the mouth or tongue, megaloblastic anemia, along with nerve problems, problems with balance, depression, confusion, and dementia.
Forms of Vitamin B12
B12 exists in four chemical forms:
Methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin are most commonly used as supplements. Although both methylcobalamin and cyanocobalamin are nearly identical, methycobalamin has been known to retain a higher retention rate.
For many people with low levels of B vitamins, a daily supplement in the form of a pill is as effective as taking a monthly muscle injection. Unlike oral supplements, however, Vitamin B12 injections allow for quick restoration.
FDA labeling for the approved hCG drug products requires the following statement about the use of hCG:
"hCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or 'normal' distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets."
